IS NSTK the correct symbol? I tried to enter it in IB and stockcharts- Security is not found- I purchased some EXAS as it met the chart criteria- but is several days long in the move higher.

SORRY SD - NKTR - It used to have a different name and symbol - "NSTK"- some years ago (I am still holding it.)
Trying to determine opening prices is proving problematic. The WSJ 9:30 price is slightly different from the Yahoo listed opening. As I remember it DG used Yahoo. I will maintain that practice unless someone has a better idea
Instead of copying the results for 5 days I will just update a single worksheet and see how it works out
Would the race be more realistic if riders were able to close out a position at anytime - he/she would get the price at the time of posting or at the closing price - thoughts??

That would just add another tracking variable- on your shoulders- Traders have the option presently to declare a limit they would take profits at- and a 1 week look ahead is not a lengthy period- I like the idea of a trader looking at a chart and seeing a "target" price they would like to sell at- prior to the race starting- That is just my opinion though. It is the opposite end of including a level where you want to be out of the trade with a stop-loss. It also requires planning well ahead of the entry instead of reacting-This should be something traders already do in practice- as well as in real actions. IMHO. The concept of allowing traders- to sell -intraweek- brings up responding to discretionary reactions- Rather than planning the trade ahead of time.
Your suggestion reflects what might actually occur-in real trading- and you are the one generously managing the Race-
I would suggest to Not allow Racer's to Close the trade intraweek- It should be planned for - Instead, Consider the option of a trader using a fixed trailing stop- It could be in $ dollars or in % - and declaring that trailing option along with declaring the horse they want to Ride- This trailing Option could be used- or a Target could be used- It really adds more "reality" but it also requires more tracking work on your part-
As far as Entry/Exits- Using Yahoo for the reference is fine with me.
And- Thanks for finding the time to keep up with this!

I took a small position in EXAS (Spiderman's Horse) because it was within the Chart parameters- but somewhat extended. It is interesting that Exas hold s a high position for weekly technicals on the Finviz screener #19 along with a relatively moderate Beta of 1.11

Looking at the 1 and 2 year chart for EXAS, it looks like it is right at some resistance, but I think if it has enough steam it would make it to 20

I agree- past support- 20-21 range had that large breaklower- It would be logical to think that there would be a lot of trapped Buyers, that would love to get their investment back as it reaches that level. Gremlins are at work - my prior post 'You can Input .....did not include the follow up chart i had intended to post here. And- I had 2 positions sell exactly at the open as Market sells- EXAS and VXZ which i am certain i had set lower stop-losses in. Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to check my positions premarket- there was no reason I should have altered the orders- Sloppy perhaps- and i should take a screenshot of future orders each day to be certain whether i made an error in haste in adjusting orders.

Why does getting stopped out make the palms of my hands itch? I thought that occurred when you were coming INTO money! My Horse for next week will be HSKA- Had a nice big breakout, a pause today, hopefully a pullback Friday for a better lower entry- Got too busy these past few days on the all Day job !

II swear, the brokers know where lots of shares are stopped. Then they drive a share price down to where the stops hit then they buy up shares on the cheap. See Feb 11 2016 - the markets bottomed and rapidly bounced back. On the other hand, one of Buffet's principles is "Don't take big losses". I tend to use stops once I have a profit "Nobody ever went broke taking profits" and I follow the investing principle of the Rothchilds - "Get in too late and get out too soon."

Congratulations Spiderman! A nice win- and worth pointing out - this stock has had momentum for several months- and has tripled in value from the July breakout- there have been some declines- and pullbacks to the slower ema (10) and if you had a position and exited on those ema;s as your stop-loss- you would have missed out on the big gap up moves that followed both declines. I would also point out that this stock had gapped higher the prior week and moved up strongly- Conventional wisdom would have said to wait or a pullback to enter-Or Cramer would for sure! Spiderman chose to enter- and the Momentum continued in his favor! So much for conventional wisdoms this week!

I think the Rothchilds likely understood the markets! I thought i had posted this yesterday, but did not see it today- Gremlins or intended to- HSKA is a momentum mover I will take as my Horse this coming week- I'll try to determine stops later this weekend- Good Luck All!
