I personally think we are rapidly approaching a time when the value of drinking water is going to rise substantially. Desalination is expensive and rising sea water continues to corrupt fresh water resources. Additionally, agricultural needs for fresh water continue to strain current supply. Taking water from the air by renewable energy means is most likely the best solution.

There was a recent report on NPR on "Fog nets" used in Peru. Pacific fog rolls in - condenses on the nets and creates drinking water. As global warmiong increases, there are fewer glaciers and less glacial melting in summer, If there is global warming - one can expect more fog and fewer glaciers world wide.
