Sd, The way this market is acting today alone, have to lock in those gains, if I owned it in real life would have sold at resistance more then likely.
I will go with CRNC (long) stop 15 LOL this thing has 3 gaps to fill, and earnings on 12/17 before market open, so wish that was not the case but like the chart too much to pass.

It has been a decent year overall! I think that limiting the downside Risk with Stops and going long WITH what is trending at the time is a good start- Overall, My focus this year evolved some- to try to overweight where the momentum seemed to be working, and exit earlier when it was not there- And the key is to be able to reduce that downside Risk- I hope to improve this coming year in actual investment/allocation/trading. I hope to become a more systematically focused investor-Stock Charts to identify sectors trending/outperforming- Asset allocation to overweight those sectors- Example Technology vs the SPY .... Controlling the downside Risk when chasing momentum areas is critical Imo. More difficult to do to do with individual stocks-a bad earnings report could see a large 20 -30% gap down. Not as likely for sector indexes/etfs. In the Strategies thread DEC 1 , i tonight completed a simple backtest of the QQQ's with Elder impulse bars/ stoch-RSI and some ema's - and ended up with a 19% return vs a 32% for Buy and hold - but with a very controlled limited drawdown (over 2 years) vs the -26% the qqq's had. I think it's a good exercise for traders to do regarding their approach to the market- and to the extent one can establish Guidelines or "rules" that are universally applied to different market conditions, it can give confidence to one's market approach under those different conditions. 2 bits.
