Stops for short term swing trades makes sense-
Your stop was TIGHT BUT seemed realistic based on the recent past price action-
Notice the 1 day sell-off and drop lower from the base- followed immediately by the much higher move- Often, this will be followed by a move higher- In the Case of Col,
that was the day that BA made their announcement that seemed to undercut COL.

RATHER - Look at that volatility-
Narrow stops won't do much good if it's an after hours earnings report that disappoints- I see AAOI down $22 after hours- Glad i had sold my remaining 3 shares!
Semis have been looking weak- see SMH

I'll take SNAP with a stop at $12.40 at today's Close- Perhaps the selling has washed out ahead of Earnings next week was one comment i caught ....Note that the price action yesterday had pushed to a new low, but closed higher on the day- Today's price appears to be up higher yet- see how it closes- Took a small spec position just to have some skin in the game....
Viewing CTSH- The Price action looks like COL- a sharp sell-off- a recovery, followed by a breakout higher. Earnings beat...

Last Sunday I was afraid AAOI was too vulnerable to profit taking to risk riding it ahead of the earnings announcement. That turned out to be an understatement. It dropped 34% Friday after the earnings announcement. Too bad I wasn't short. Oh well, ain't hat how it always goes. Hindsight is so clear. Reminds me of the old market advice, "Buy stocks that go up." "But what if they don't go up?" "Then don't buy them." -ira
