I'll ride AAOI long again. Edit *:02 PM: If it isn't too late, I'd like to add a stop at 62. -ira
Congrats Tiarra!!. You had the right stock, the right direction, and the right time frame! You had to have all three to have a winner and you hit it bulls eye!
About 4 weeks ago I was in last place on the year to date and deep in the red. I had just suffered a huge loss riding AAOI. I figured the only way I could get back in the hunt on the yearly contest was to gamble on a high flyer that had potential for big gains. It seemed, despite it's big loss, the AAOI chart still had an intact up trend. So I doubled down and stayed on AAOI long. Three weeks later it's done a great job of getting me back in the hunt. My keenly perceptive chart analysis tells me the trend is rising, moving up and to the right. Look at a six month chart of SMH. Pretty clearly and consistently higher for the semiconductor sector. So AAOI looks like it's in a rising market sector and within that sector it's a star performer and still cheap.
It will have a significant down week at some point, but I think I oughta dance with the one who got me here, at least for now. I know SD sold a third of his AAOI position. But since I have to go all or nothing, I'll stick with all. -ira

Hi Ira, By selling 1/3, I am not giving up on AAOI-just took a bit off to lock in some gain....LOL! I Like your sector analysis- rising tide....in this market segment. I'm staying the course with Trailing stops- and i hope you do as well this week with it as you did last!LOL! I know that is self-serving!

Hi Blygh, Sorry I didn't reply sooner to your answer about the YTD calculations. I've been on vacation out of the country and was afraid to use the unsecure internet available. Thanks for the explanation I understand. I only wish I could have selected a different horse the past two weeks. Thanks again, Spiderman

Interesting trading day - Tiarra's default pick -ETSY- was up 22% - SD's pick - ARGT 's daily trading volume was up 280% from the 65 DAY average.
Welcome back Spiderman - I guess that after a 640% one year rise - EXAS is entitled to little pull back

Market keeps moving forward-despite the political gyrations- Read where the political landscape - has been superceded by good earnings on the majority of stocks reporting, low inflation, low rates, "full employment ?" I have a couple of "safer" positions SPLV and XLU which are doing nothing-Offset by Tech positions that are doing quite well- Bought some QCOM yesterday. ARGT had a large 3% intraday move today - Very disturbing that it was unable to hold the majority of the move- closing up just .5%- trend is still intact, close well above the ema but I have to view the move as a climax type move- That type of move meant that no one was willing to take the bid, and the offers declined . stop will be raised to the $30.70 -fast ema, as this is a recent position.
Edit Wed morning- Looks like politics may not continue to be ignored by the markets- Futures are all lower

Today was a good time to have relatively close stops-2nd place AAOI position stopped out- ($61.93) left with a final 1/3. Sold BOTZ,ROBO,TQQQ,SHOP,ITA-XLU Lost a bit on XLU, ITA, kept a good portion of gains on the others-but down a net 2% or so on declining net values In the past, I would have tried to jump to the short etf side- because that was my bias- (No freed cash is a good restraint)and my timing often caught me entering short just as the market decided it would rebound- GLD got a nice pop higher -(no position) Holding a decent amount of SPLV, will see how well it compares to SPY's move. Still holding SPLV, OEUH,ARGT,QCOM- AAOI- Notice that the foreign stocks held up better- And SPY declined more than the qqq's by a bit despite the q's out performance.

Ugly on the open for 4 racers as yesterday's decline continues- Notice the tech -AAOI, and EXAS have at least held their own 20 minutes into the open- As dramatic as the selling appears, particularly if you see your position gapping down lower, The decline is still quite small- with SPY at 240 close Tuesday, and is presently at 235.61 at 10:00 am. More selling in my holdings with AAOI,QCOM,OEUH argt selling off in the opening minutes- Well, perhaps this is the beginning of the long awaited correction, and future purchases can take advantage of the price decline?
