I just found this at yahoo finance today: "Teradyne Inc. (NYSE: TER), a supplier of testing equipment based in North Reading, Mass., has acquired Illinois-based Eagle Test Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: EGLT). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ETS developed power management and test applications. Stockholders will be paid $15.65 per share of common stock, which is no longer traded publicly."
Since my stock stopped trading essentially at friday close, I am forced to disqualify it from the race.

I've had horses that broke their legs during the race -- but this is the first time I ever had one die before the start! It has to make you wonder .....

After 2 days: horse | rider | entry | last | % change | rank | GOOG short | blyghme | 303.00 | 297.00 | 1.98 | 2 | BGZ long | sd | 88.11 | 87.88 | -0.26 | 3 | C long | bankedout | 9.36 | 8.36 | -10.68 | 5 | EGLT long | dg | n/a | n/a | n/a | scratched | QCOR long | spiderman | 8.11 | 8.63 | 6.41 | 1 | COMPQ | (mkt) | 1494.74 | 1483.27 | -0.77 | 4 |
Spiderman continues to hold his lead! Meanwhile, dg's horse was found dead earlier today inside the starting gates holding area. An investigation is presently under way as rumors abound. A small funeral is scheduled for 6 pm today for family and friends.

After 3 days: horse | rider | entry | last | % change | rank | GOOG short | blyghme | 303.00 | 280.18 | 7.53 | 2 | BGZ long | sd | 88.11 | 102.96 | 16.85 | 1 | C long | bankedout | 9.36 | 6.45 | -31.09 | 5 | EGLT long | dg | n/a | n/a | n/a | scratched | QCOR long | spiderman | 8.11 | 8.44 | 4.07 | 3 | COMPQ | (mkt) | 1494.74 | 1386.42 | -7.25 | 4 |
lead change! now sd is out in front with blyghme chasing distantly. And as the horses round the second bend on their quest for transient glory, a lone truck is seen in the background, slowly pulling away from the stall last occupied by dg's modest mount EGLT-- on route to its last earthly destination (located at Elmer's acres). The crowd quietly contemplates what might have been.

If you can tell the driver of the truck that he should have another pickup on Friday, that would be appreciated.

After 4 days: horse | rider | entry | last | % change | rank | GOOG short | blyghme | 303.00 | 259.56 | 14.34 | 2 | BGZ long | sd | 88.11 | 121.32 | 37.69 | 1 | C long | bankedout | 9.36 | 4.71 | -49.68 | 5 | EGLT long | dg | n/a | n/a | n/a | scratched | QCOR long | spiderman | 8.11 | 7.78 | -4.07 | 3 | COMPQ | (mkt) | 1494.74 | 1316.12 | -11.95 | 4 |
now sd is out front and pulling away with blyghme chasing distantly. And as the horses make the final turn leading into the home stretch, a team of blue angels pass overhead in missing man formation to signal the arrival of dg's EGLT at Elmer's Acres.

And the winner (in a surprise photo finish) is: horse | rider | entry | last | % change | rank | GOOG short | blyghme | 303.00 | 254.11 | 16.13 | 1 | BGZ long | sd | 88.11 | 102.29 | 16.09 | 2 | C long | bankedout | 9.36 | 3.77 | -59.72 | | EGLT long | dg | n/a | n/a | n/a | scratched | QCOR long | spiderman | 8.11 | 8.21 | 1.23 | 3 | COMPQ | (mkt) | 1494.74 | 1384.35 | -7.39 | 4 |
Congrats! blyghme? ;DIn the photo finish of the century, blyghme overtook sd at the finish line to win the race. ( I'm sure that the spirit of EGLT was looking down on all racers and smiled with the outcome). And, uh, bankedout. That truck you wanted has pulled in near your horse's stall. They're ready for you now.

Nice going Blyghme! You got me by nose hairs! I'll repeat with this same Nag for next week- She should start out last next week as the market rallies, and pull from behind at the end of the week! SD

SD don't you just hate it when your nag dies in the last few yards of the stretch. Would you triple short with real money?? Anyway - what's happening - I think that betting XOM short is a very guty move bankedout. Oil has to bottom out someplace. The minute I hear someone talk about $40 oil I go long (just as I went short when Goldman Sachs called for $200/barrel oil). Assuming a dead cat bounce - or a gesture of approval for Obama I will go long MS

I think that betting XOM short is a very guty move bankedout. Oil has to bottom out someplace. The minute I hear someone talk about $40 oil I go long (just as I went short when Goldman Sachs called for $200/barrel oil). Blygh I agree that oil seems cheap here. If I had a large tank in my backyard, I would fill it up for the future. However, look at how XOM has traded during the Oil decline (Peak 7/10/2008) For some reason XOM has not sold off to reflect the Oil decline. It is still being priced on very expensive Oil. I don't think that Oil prices will bounce back up to those levels in the near term.
