Ira - when I said let your winners ride I was contrasting that investment philosophy with the attitude of taking short term profits. Some people hold on to their loses hoping that they will rebound while taking profits on their winners. This contrasts with dumping your losers and letting your winners run. I realize that this strategy is not possible with a portfolio one commits to for a year.
