I'd also like to change my default ride to VIXY short. It may not be volatile enough to win a lot of weekly races, but the trend looks very consistent.

Darn those Pesky Earnings! I'm not picking on IDCC, but when stocks are run up so far- and then the reality of "earnings" to justify the higher price fail to meet investor expectations- the end results are harshly reacted to- Let's ask IBD the question- since IDCC was one of IBD's top 50 stocks- perhaps they do qualify their stock selections .
Today was a harsh day for several high Fliers- including TSLA, NVDA, and it seemed to put a splash of reality on the market's enthusiasm. Perhaps the Trump rally momentum has had enough puncture wounds that the market will be less giving.... and more asking.... i think it makes a good case for adjusting trailing stop-losses .
EDIT; lOOKING BACK AT THE IDCC chart, the price reaction today wiped out the low of the support range in all of 2017 and December 2016! Price closed under what i would have thought as a substantial multi-week support range based on duration. Obviously the investors didn't give a whit about the likely support levels- they just wanted out!. NVDA has been plodding around, and it finally reached home on a downgrade that the market responded to .
This feels like some Air is leaving the buoyancy of the markets- Perhaps the easy money is now in the rear view- and stock selection will be the criteria moving forward....

Note- My TSLA short post was pre-close-I'm not going to put a stop-loss on this trade, but I would like to have a long shot limit sell at $208.00. TSLA had a higher close today, BUT I think it likely has a long way to go lower . Note-not an actual short trade for me.
